Executive functions are essential life-long skills that we begin to develop as children through our intrapersonal and interpersonal interactions. Executive functions include working memory, planning and prioritization, organization, time management, metacognition, response inhibition, emotional control, sustained attention, task initiation, goal-directed persistence, and mental flexibility. Executive function impairments may manifest as inattention, incomplete assignments in a timely manner, difficulty following multi-step directions, inappropriate social behavior(s), antisocial behavior, inability to foresee consequences, recall information, or get started on a task. This session will provide digital and non-digital solutions for enhancing executive function skills in school-aged children.
