About Presenters

Joy Musser

PhD, CCC-SLP

Joy Musser is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist by the state of New York and holds her national certificate with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Cincinnati and has over 18 years of clinical experience. Musser Therapies, LLC and Musser Voice was formed in 2010 with the goal to provide quality voice therapy. Dr. Musser specializes in voice feminization for the transfemale population. In addition, she teaches voice disorders and related course work online for several universities across the country.

Michelle Dawson

MS, CCC-SLP, CLC, BCS-S

Michelle Dawson, MS, CCC-SLP, CLC, BCS-S, serves as the Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor with James Madison University. Additionally, she is the acclaimed host of “First Bite: Fed, Fun, Functional” a weekly Speech Therapy Podcast that addresses “all thangs” Pediatric Speech Therapy, and is presented by SpeechTherapyPD.com. Michelle authored, "Chasing the Swallow: Truth, Science, and Hope for Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Disorders". She is an accomplished lecturer; traveling across the nation delivering courses on best practices for the evaluation and treatment of the medically complex infant, toddlers, and children with respect to their pediatric oropharyngeal dysphagia, pediatric feeding disorder, as well as language acquisition within the framework of Early Intervention. She has served as the Treasurer for the Council of State Association Presidents (CSAP), is a Past President of the South Carolina Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (SCSHA), a graduate of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Leadership Development Program (ASHA LDP), a recipient of the Pediatric Feeding Disorder Awareness Champion from Feeding Matters, a recipient of the Louis M. DiCarlo Award for Outstanding Clinical Achievement from the SCSHA, a recipient of the State Clinical Achievement Award from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Foundation, recognized as an ASHA Innovator in 2023, and ten-time recipient of ASHA’s ACE Award for continuing education.

Marisha McGrorty

MS, CCC-SLP

Marisha earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. She has worked as a school-based SLP and shares therapy ideas and resources on her blog (SLP Now). Marisha also developed a membership for SLPs that includes digital tools and resources to streamline evidence-based therapy.

Leigh Ann Porter

MA, CCC-SLP

Leigh Ann Porter earned her master’s in Communication Sciences from the University of Central Florida in 2013, and has enjoyed being an SLP ever since. While at UCF, Leigh Ann was part of a grant to prepare SLPs to work with English Language Learners, earning a graduate certificate of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Leigh Ann now resides in Kansas City where she divides her time working across outpatient, acute, and inpatient rehab settings. She has presented courses registered for ASHA CEUs to regional SLPs on topics such as how the respiratory system and cough influence dysphagia, a review of the literature on dysphagia exercises, and generating measurable dysphagia goals. For multidisciplinary continuing education with PTs and OTs, Leigh Ann has presented on topics such as Cognitive Retraining with an emphasis on memory strategies, and the SLP’s scope of practice & making appropriate patient referrals to the SLP.

Carrie Clark

Carrie Clark is the founder of Speech and Language Kids. Over the past 4 years, SLK has become the place where speech-language therapists go for answers! Carrie is a speech therapist located in Columbia, Missouri and dedicates her time to creating awesome activities and breaking down the current research into easy-to-follow plans. Kristin Martinez has over 20 years of experience in school-based speech-language pathology and brings her past decade of expertise in clinical teletherapy implementation, best practices, and thought leadership to AMN as Senior Director of Teletherapy. Joining AMN in 2023, Kristin is dedicated to leveraging her deep knowledge of school-based services and her passion for ensuring access and equity for all children to lead AMN's team in partnering with schools nationwide to develop impactful and sustainable teletherapy programs.

Jessi Andricks

MS, CCC-SLP

Jessi Andricks earned her master's degree in Speech Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a trained Integrative Health Coach and Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher, focusing on Stress Management for SLPs. She has presented at ASHA Annual Convention and at state speech pathology association conventions on the topics of stress management and burn out prevention for SLPs. Jessi has written for the ASHA Leader Live and NSSLHA Blog, as well as created several CEU courses and been interviewed in several Speech-related Podcasts. She also runs the website, JessiAndricks.com, where she has programs and resources to help SLPs reduce stress, burn out and overwhelm.

William Connors

Bill Connors combines technology and neuroscience with current evidence to advance the treatment and recovery of acquired communication problems with a focus of delivering services at a distance. He has presented at numerous venues internationally, has provided treatment daily via telepractice for 11 years, and collaborates with SLPs worldwide online. A clinical instructor at the University of Pittsburgh, he also chaired its Medical Center’s SLP Rehab committee assisting on numerous aphasia-related research studies. He is a member of the American Telemedicine Association and serves on the telepractice committees of the PA and OH SLP associations. He is collaborating with Bloomsburg University, PA USA to introduce telepractice into the graduate CSD curriculum. Bill founded the Telepractice Certification Community and its website, telepracticecommunity.com®, in 2015 in order to provide training, information and ongoing professional and peer support for rehab specialists wanting to work with clients via telepractice.

Andrea Szwabowski

Andrea Szwabowski is a Speech-Language Pathologist, and the creator, author and blogger of The Whimsical Word. Andee has been an SLP in a school-based setting for 20 years, and founded The Whimsical Word after entering the field of speech telepractice. Here, she creates digital products for sale on Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT), and authors both a blog and a podcast dedicated to telepractice. She is a graduate of Augustana College in Illinois, where she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree. Andee pursued her Masters of Health Sciences degree from Governors State University, while working full time serving students with autism. Andee is currently a Clinical Product Expert for DotCom Therapy, and is a member of ASHA and ISHA (Illinois Speech-Language Hearing Association), where she volunteers as a member of the Telepractice Committee. Lauren Tandy

Lauren owns and works at Tandy Therapy, she worked in a variety of settings serving children and adults, including outpatient hospital clinics, adult rehabilitation programs, long-term acute care hospital therapy, and school district services. She now specializes in areas of speech and language development, voice, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), and other related feeding difficulties. She am an evidence-based clinician that applies the latest research and proven practices to my intervention approach.

Anna Vagin

PhD, SLP

Anna Vagin, PhD, is a licensed speech/language pathologist with over 30 years experience. Currently in private practice in Marin County, she provides individual sessions and social learning groups to families and children 6 months through young adulthood. Her particular interest is using media to support social thinking in students with diagnoses such as ASD, ADHD, NVLD, Language Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Social Communication Disorder or Twice Exceptional.
