Michelle Dawson, MS, CCC-SLP, CLC, Member/Manager of HeartWood Speech Therapy in Columbia, SC, is the acclaimed host of “First Bite: Fed, Fun, Functional” a speech therapy podcast that addresses “all thangs” Pediatric Speech Therapy. She is an accomplished lecturer, traveling the nation delivering courses registered for ASHA CEUs on best practices for evaluation and treatment of the medically complex infant, toddler, and child with respect to their pediatric oropharyngeal dysphagia, as well as language acquisition within the framework of Early Intervention. She has served as the Treasurer for the Council of State Association Presidents, is a Past President of the South Carolina Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, 2020 recipient of the “Pediatric Feeding Disorder Awareness Champion” from Feeding Matters, a 2017 graduate of the ASHA Leadership Development Program, and 5-time recipient of the ASHA ACE Award.

Char Boshart is a speech-language pathologist, author, seminar presenter, and president and co-founder of Speech Dynamics, Inc. She graduated with her Master’s degree from Western Michigan University under the extraordinary tutelage of Dr. Charles Van Riper, the “father” of articulation therapy during the final years of his illustrious career. Char began her career in the public schools in the early 70’s with a caseload of over 110 children. Since then, she has worked many years in the public schools, developed and ran her own private practice, and, for seven years was an Assistant Professor and Department Chair of the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department at Loma Linda University in southern California. Her interest in creating effective therapy techniques has evolved into the development of several practical articulation publications, videos (articulation and language), and articles.
