Clinicians are often in the position of educating and advising caregivers and need the skills to do so. Parent involvement can increase the benefits of therapy and ensure that children receive the skills necessary to succeed at home and school. In this course, we will learn the skills to foster parent engagement and increase the overall well-being of our Tween and Teen clients. We will also explore simple and effective strategies to aid parents in understanding misbehavior, why Teens and teens act the way they do, and help them develop discipline strategies that work. We will discuss the reasons behind non-compliance, skills to encourage responsibility, manage time blindness, and increase flexibility skills, along with understanding the impact of personality and temperament on behaviors.
