An Effective and Systematic Therapy Format for Young Children and Caregivers

This episode addresses an important dilemma: Am I on the right therapy track with my young children, and am I coaching their caregivers correctly? Char Boshart, MA, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist, author, seminar presenter, and president and co-founder of Speech Dynamics, Inc. She graduated with her Master’s degree from Western Michigan University under the extraordinary tutelage of Dr. Charles Van Riper, the “father” of articulation therapy during the final years of his illustrious career. Char began her career in the public schools in the early 70’s with a caseload of over 110 children. Since then, she has worked many years in public schools, developed and ran her own private practice, and, for seven years, was an Assistant Professor and Department Chair of the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department at Loma Linda University in southern California. Her interest in creating effective therapy techniques has evolved into the development of several practical articulation publications, videos (articulation and language), and articles.

Rachel Arntson

Rachel Arntson, MS, CCC-SLP, has been a Speech-Language Pathologist in the greater Minneapolis, Minnesota area since 1980. She has worked in the hospital setting, a pediatric clinic, and in early intervention. From 1991 to 2015, she provided family-centered speech and language intervention to infants and toddlers in their homes in the Osseo School District in Maple Grove, MN. Since retiring from Osseo Schools, Rachel has focused on building her company, Talk It Rock It, and developing new products. She has also presented numerous seminars and worked with private practice clients. She is the creator of all Talk It Rock It products, including 10 critically acclaimed song and movie sets, the WE CAN TALK parent training book, the Blast Off Board Sound Sequencing Set, the Push-Pull Puzzle, and Animation Station videos for speech and language learning.
